StallPOPd V2 Web Interactive: Interactive software to calculate the combination of egg addling and bird culling needed to stall or halt population growth of subsidized ravens

Other Titles

Abstract

Common ravens have followed the expansion of human land use into the once pristine wildlife habitats of the US desert SW. Accordingly, wildlife managers seek to reduce subsidy of common ravens to reduce bird damage to habitat crucial for other wildlife species. This software uses density independent and density dependent populations matrix models to calculate and display combinations of managerial approaches that include egg oiling and culling of live individuals that may be enacted to reduce the growth of subsidized ravens. This software is the second version of its kind, where the first provided strategies of egg oiling only, found here: https://doi.org/10.7298/sk2e-0c38.
