In the present publication we identify, illustrate, name, and define what we believe are the key growth stages for apple, pear, peach, plum and prune, tart cherry, and sweet cherry. The growth period covered extends from the dormant stage of the buds up to the initial setting of the fruit. It is hoped that these designations have sufficient merit, collectively, to win official acceptance beyond the confines of New York. For if this transpires, at least that part of the horticultural world would be using the same growth stage language.en_US
