Workforce Expansion through STEM Education (WE-STEM) is a strategic partnership between the Cornell Center for Materials Research (CCMR), the Alliance for Manufacturing and Technology (AMT), the Windsor Central School District, and the Binghamton City School District to offer both core academic and applied technical curricula to high school students through blended formal and informal learning strategies. This report evaluates the current local manufacturing workforce needs in the Southern Tier region of New York State and discusses developing a diverse STEM focused workforce to advance manufacturing and support the industries of tomorrow.
