Abstract

Tomato ringspot virus (TomRSV) which is spread by nematodes in the soil and by pollen is a devastating disease on elderberries. While it was originally discovered on the tomato, it is a very destructive disease on a variety of fruit crops, including elderberry, apple (union necrosis), peach (stem pitting), and raspberry (crumbly berry). Dandelions and some other weeds can also carry this virus.
