Abstract

The Network for Environment and Weather Applications (NEWA) delivered over 40 insect, plant disease, crop management, degree day, and weather summary models to locations across 28 US states in 2019. 2,776 total online contact hours were achieved in 2019, resulting from continued network expansion within existing member states. Total weather stations increased to 676, up 6% from 2018 (638). NEWA user support was provided using the online help desk, through which 525 issues were resolved by completing 823 email or phone interactions. 13 NEWA presentations were given in 2019, 10 in New York alone, at multiple venues using different formats for apple, grape, and general audiences. 23 articles or reports were published. The NEWA website rebuild continues forward and will launch in November 2020.
