dc.description.abstractA preservation copy of the data from GloPAD expressed as a compressed, Postgres database dump file called "glopad3.sql.gz" To work with this file, researchers will need to download, reimport/reestablish the file as a working Postgres database. After this, the record metadata can be explored natively. The database was built without foreign keys in the tables. During preservation, Cornell University Library Preservation Services refined a python script that injects the foreign keys into the tables of the database. The code that creates the foreign keys is called create_fk.py and the code to inject them is called add_foreign_keys.sql. The resulting improved database (dumped and compressed) is called glopad3_fk.sql.zip. All three files are also offered in addition to the original database export in case the researcher finds these more suitable for the research need.
