Taking an interdisciplinary approach that merges psychological theory with sociological principles, I examine the cognitive processes and social contexts that inform individuals' judgment and decision-making through juries. Through experimental jurisprudence, I question how common legal standards are understood by lay citizens and how that understanding informs their judgments and verdicts.
