dc.description.abstract | By any measure, small farms make up a large proportion of United States, Northeast Region and New York State farms. Using the USDA definition of a small farm as one that sells less than $250,000 worth of agricultural products, 92 percent of all farms are small (Table A1). Those small farms produce 28 percent of all agricultural products in the United States and 40 percent in New York State. | |
