This project aims to understand the large-scale transport infrastructure in the context of
subway expansion in Beijing on traffic congestion, air pollution and ultimately on the
wellbeing of the residents. The analysis produces estimates of the benefits from congestion
relief and air quality from subway expansion and compare them with other transportation
policies such as driving restriction and congestion pricing through their impacts on the housing
market in Beijing.
