Hemorrhagic bowel syndrome in dairy cows
Hemorrhagic bowel syndrome, also known as either jejunal hemorrhage syndrome or bloody gut, is an economically important, emerging disease in dairy cows. Possible etiologies include Clostridium perfringens type A, Aspergillus fumigatus or farm management practices. The syndrome is characterized by intraluminal intestinal bleeding and blood clots, shock and death. Prognosis is grave.
