BOW VARIETIES: SYMPLECTIC REDUCTION, STRATIFICATIONS, AND POLYNOMIAL COUNTABILITY
In this thesis, we study bow varieties with nonempty torus fixed points. We begin by presenting these varieties as symplectic reductions of a unipotent group. From this perspective, we further show that, up to a factor of affine spaces, bow varieties of this form can be realized as $\pi^{−1}(X)$ where $\pi$ is a moment map for $T^∗Fl$ and $X = \mathbb{U}_NX\mathbb{U}_N$.This realization allows us to construct a natural stratification that bridges different bow varieties. Using this stratification, we prove that bow varieties with nonempty torus fixed points are polynomial-count varieties. Moreover, we derive an formula for computing their mixed Hodge polynomials.
