Memorial Statement for Professor Howard J. Milks, D.V.M. (1879-1954) who was appointed Professor (1909) of Therapeutics and Small Animal Diseases and Director of the newly formed Department of Materia Medica and Small Animal Clinic at the New York State Veterinary College for 38 years. In addition to authoring a text, "Practical Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics", "Doctor Milks had the unusual ability to teach students to become successful surgeons and leaders in small animal and general practice." The memorial statements contained herein were prepared by the Office of the Dean of the University Faculty of Cornell University to honor its faculty for their service to the university.
