Abstract

Memorial Statement for Professor Samuel Gordon Campbell, D.V.M., M.S., Ph.D. (1933-1997) who was Assistant Professor (1967), Professor (1978) of Microbiology, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Director of International Programs at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. "His contributions to Cornell University span over 30 years and incorporate the breadth of responsibilities including administration, research and teaching." Professor Campbell's "research expertise encompassed the disciplines of bacteriology and immunology and he was always most interested in the practical application of his science," including sheep extension work. Due to his experience in Malaya, he became involved in international affairs, especially with small ruminant husbandry, which is an important part of agriculture in developing countries. The memorial statements contained herein were prepared by the Office of the Dean of the University Faculty of Cornell University to honor its faculty for their service to the university.
