Abstract
The Garden in the City project is designed for youth and leaders who have had little experience with gardening and limited space. It is a step-by-step guide to beginning gardening. The project begins in February with indoor gardening activities and ends in June with an outdoor garden plot. Most of the vegetables in this project will grow quickly, so at the last project meeting you can have a harvest party, eating the food you've grown. Garden planning, site cleaning, breaking ground, planting, weeding, thinning and harvesting are all covered. Learn how to build a garden box, and how to start seeds and sprouts too. 11 Lessons or activities, required supplies and tools, and a salad garden plant list are included.
