Abstract

Interim summary report detailing workers’ rights violations at Hermosa Manufacturing, a factory located in Apopa, El Salvador. The complainant, Christliche Initiative Romero (CIR), an NGO based in Germany, alleged that the factory had suddenly closed in May 2005, leaving 320 workers without employment. At the time of the factory’s closing, employees were apparently owed wages and overtime payments, and they were also not given legally due severance pay. Three FLA companies were allegedly sourcing from Hermosa: Adidas, Nike, and Russell Athletic.
