Abstract
Cedarwood oil is a natural substance derived from the wood of cedar, juniper and cypress. It is used as an effective fungicide, molluscicide and insect repellent—often against mosquitoes and moths. All pesticidal oil applications are non-food. Because of the relatively low mammalian toxicity, non-toxic mode of action, and the relatively low risk that cedar products pose to public health and the environment, the EPA does not anticipate any unreasonable risks to the public.
