Abstract

This guide is designed to help local government officials, developers, and citizens understand and use technical information based on an exhaustive groundwater study of the Tug Hill Aquifer located in upstate New York. Part I of the guide describes maps included in a USGS report to help users understand the value of maps in making land use management decisions. Part II provides examples of how maps might be used to make groundwater protection and development decisions.
