Description
A brief introduction to the history and some basic issues surrounding local roads, there will be six chapters covering various aspects as follows:
• Investigation of your roads (and streets)
• Geometric design—definitions, traffic, road geometry, loading
• Pavement structures—materials, repair methods
• Drainage—frost action, ditches, gutters, culverts
• Safety—signs and markings, roadside hazards, and work zones
• Maintenance—general maintenance, pavement maintenance
