Abstract

[Excerpt] On behalf of the AFL-CIO, I am writing to urge you to vote against the Full Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2011 (H.R. 1), scheduled to be on the Senate floor this week. This continuing resolution should have been an opportunity to put forth a responsible budget that promotes economic recovery, job growth, and investment in our nation's infrastructure, but instead H.R. 1 is a full-fledged assault on middle class Americans and an attempt to shut down the government with or without a funding resolution.
