The Development of The Transformational Attitude Scale
Previous studies discussed transformational behaviors, focusing on what people would do to change the world positively. Those theories barely discuss the attitudinal component and have failed to account for those individuals who tend to make transformative changes for the world but do not have the opportunity and ability yet. The current study proposed a new concept of transformational attitude and developed a scale to measure it. By revising the Transformational Giftedness Scale proposed by Sternberg (2021) and writing new items, this study developed a Transformational Attitudes Scale of 8 items, with the following subscales revealed through factor analysis: Life Goals, Seeking a Common Good, and Passion. Reliability indices, as well as item analysis, were computed and discussed. The main finding was that the transformational attitude is not one all-embracing attitude but rather occurs within domains.
