Abstract

On-Farm Experimentation (OFE) is a step towards farmer-centric, data-driven change. Farmers are generally keen to implement OFE, but the process requires resources which demand demonstrated value to sustain engagement. This paper identifies four aspects of value which need addressing for the practice of OFE to be sustainable. These concern: 1. The importance of value creation 2. The OFE value creation process 3. Value sharing arrangements around OFE 4. Value failure during OFE
