Abstract

Detloff von Winterfeldt provides definitions for system analysis and risk analysis. Systems analysis is a group of model-simulation analysis tools specifically applicable to very complex systems that undergo dynamic changes and are fraught with uncertainty. It is problem-focused and solution-oriented. On the other hand risk analysis is a combination of risk assessment and management that involves identifying the risks, quantifying them and then looking at decision opportunities, intervention and risk reduction, and evaluating them
