NABC Report 23: Food Security: The Intersection of Sustainability, Safety and Defense
Author
Gustafson, Daniel J.
Abstract

Gustafson reminds us that the challenge at hand is no longer local, regional or continental, it is global and points out that natural resource degradation, water scarcity, and climate change are raising concerns that we are nearing a tipping point and that decades of progress may be wiped out very quickly. The issues are now elevated to be seen as threats to national security. These interconnected threads demand the convergence of disciplines and generation of integrated solutions.
