Abstract
The findings of five cases of omasal dilatation and displacement are described. The major clinical signs associated with this disease process are right-sided abdominal distension and decreased milk production. Three field laparotomies and one teaching hospital laparotomy were performed. The conclusions of the surgeries and a necropsy report of the teaching hospital case are included. Practitioners should be aware of this apparently new disease process when examining cows with right-sided abdominal distension and low milk production.
