A 7-year-old, male castrated, Burmese cat was presented to Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) Emergency Service for a 10-day history of neurologic signs including vestibular ataxia and a right-sided head tilt. He was previously prescribed enrofloxacin and clindamycin for a suspected otitis media which did not improve his clinical signs. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) revealed right otitis interna with intracranial abscessation and bilateral otitis media. The patient underwent bilateral ventral bulla osteotomies and was started on broad spectrum antimicrobials. The debris removed during surgery was consistent with an inflammatory polyp and bacterial cultures grew many Mycoplasma. The cat continued to improve in the months postoperatively.
