Abstract

This booklet will bring to your attention the need for good personal hygiene, and will demonstrate why safe food processing is in your hands. Manufacturing safe, wholesome, nutritious, and appetizing food is an important job. Food processors contribute greatly to the success of making canned foods, dried products, meat items, dairy products, baked goods, frozen foods, or cereals. Working in a food processing plant is an important job because of the things you do ( or don't do) can affect the safety and wholesomeness of foods that people buy and feed to their families. Bacteria, good personal hygiene, and potential food contaminants such as hands, lips and nose, hair and dirty equipment are covered.
