Abstract

Facing heavily overcropped vineyards, Concord growers applied mechanical thinning to 40% of of Eastern juice grape acres, for an economic benefit estimated at  $9 to $11 million.  Thinning technology is an outgrowth of 15 years of field trials and industry outreach in Western NY.
