Abstract

Presentation of data demonstrating the presence of an inner-outer gate complex at Tell en-Nasbeh. Surveys previous discussions on the fortifications of Tell en-Nasbeh. Provides evidence of a wall that connected the inner four-chamber gate and the outer two-chamber gate on their eastern sides. Explains the reason for the length of the gate complex, and its location on the northeast corner of the site. Also demonstrates that buildings of Stratum 2 of the Babylonian-Persian period were eventually built over both this linking inner gate wall and the inner gate itself, leaving only the outer gate in use during Stratum 2.
