Abstract

This book examines the mining laws of Zambia, with primary attention in the early chapters of the book to the history of the laws and in the latter chapters to the current requirements that must be met within the country for the acquisition of tenure to permit the development of its mineral resources. The objective of any mineral system is to encourage the development of the countrys mineral resources. The book discusses the mining law in this context. Thus the author is mindful to examine the issues discussed against the criteria of the extent to which the mining legislation that has been adopted encouraged investments in the mining industry.
