Abstract

Correspondence about organ building continues on this reel. There is a good deal of discussion about the use of space for the organ that the school of agriculture wanted for offices. There is a letter on April sixth from the Skinner Company about the futility of trying to achieve a cathedral sound in a hall. Another Cornell subject was provision for the management of Prudence Risley Hall. There was a controversy over the naming of a matron for the hall and on May 13 Gertrude Martin filed a long report with the trustees. White wrote several letters endorsing the appointment of David Jayne Hill as Commissioner of Education for New York. Among correspondents on the reel are Joseph H. Choate, St. Clair McKelway, Martha Van Rensselaer, and Woodrow Wilson.
