Abstract

Presented is an example of how we can use agricultural biotechnology to address a major regional environmental systems problem. The Lake Winnipeg Bioeconomy Project is founded on the idea that a lake—in this case, Lake Winnipeg—can serve as the focus for a transformed agenda around innovative agricultural water management, with the potential to yield economic benefits.
