Abstract

This technical report is a component of Dr. Mario Herrero's Wild Futures research program, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Wild Futures is an ex-ante research program dedicated to designing a comprehensive research methodology for identifying potentially disruptive and transformative innovations that could drastically improve food security and climate-smart agriculture in agri-food systems in the Global South. The methodology is also meant to identify potential technology adoption strategies for the innovations discovered in the process. This report details the findings for promising technologies in the digital agriculture sector, highlighting the potential for digital agriculture tools for cover crop management in smallholder farming communities in Kenya.
