Abstract

Founded on the guiding principles to deliver high-quality patient care, research, and medical education, the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine has expanded significantly to serve patients in three boroughs of New York City. In this article, we chronicle the department's history and evolution from establishing New York Hospital in 1771 to the contemporary history of innovations.
