Abstract

The Southeast Asia Program Bulletin is a bi-annual publication covering Cornell faculty and student research, SEAP outreach activities, as well as SEAP news and updates.

Description
This edition of the SEAP Bulletin presents a diverse range of perspectives on Southeast Asian research and current affairs. Kathryn Stam explores refugee narratives through photography, while Jason Judd and Sarosh Kuruvilla analyze the intersection of climate change and the apparel industry in Southeast Asia. Anna Rose Marion provides insight into the challenges and opportunities of scaling Philippine seaweed production, and Iris Luo delves into the cultural significance of barkcloth in Indonesia. Additionally, Esther Adinda, Junaydy Michael Angelo Ginting, and Indah Sartika Sari contribute pieces on the role of bioacoustics in wildlife conservation, while Andrew Mertha reflects on the Khmer Rouge through the lens of political biographies. Shaoling Ma offers a thought-provoking analysis of computational environments in Southeast Asia, and the issue includes coverage of key SEAP events, including the Gatty Lecture Series and the 2024 Sharp Prize.
