Hemophilia B is a hereditary disease that results in inappropriate coagulation due to a deficiency in coagulation factor IX. This paper summarizes the case of an 18 month old dog with an unknown medical history that underwent routine castration at Cornell University's Small Animal Hospital. The diagnosis, management, and the use of fibrinolytic inhibitors in treating Hemophilia B are reviewed in this paper.
