Tracheal laceration or perforation most commonly occurs in companion animals secondary to trauma or iatrogenically from surgical or anesthetic procedures. Multiple imaging modalities may be used in assessing a patient, particularly for concurrent injury, but treatment is largely based upon clinical signs. The purpose of this case report is to describe the non-surgical management of tracheal laceration in a 5-year-old, female spayed, small mixed breed dog, including placement of a catheter into the subcutaneous space for continuous suction.
