Abstract

Quality Milk Production Services (QMPS) is a program within the Animal Health Diagnostic Center at Cornell University. QMPS works with the dairy industry by helping to promote the production of high quality milk through a variety of field and laboratory evaluations including mastitis control and prevention, avoidance of antibiotic residues, milking management evaluation, parlor evaluation, education, and research. This report will describe a milk quality survey of a 1500-head farm performed with QMPS. The background and history of the farm, the data analysis using DairyComp 305® software, the on-farm survey that was performed, the recommendations that were made, as well as the follow-up with the farm will be described.
