In this paper, the argument will be developed around the relationality between Vocaloid and identity, and Vocaloidand nationalism. Borrowing the core concept of Petit Nationalism (Puchi Nashonarizumu) termed by Japanese Psychiatrist Kayama Rika, I will argue that Vocaloid characters and its derivative products are under the framework of Petit Nationalism. Such Petit Nationalism in Vocaloid scene, which i will be calling the Vocaloid Nationalism, is common in the scene and has complicated and significant impact on the understanding of what is virtual and real, foreign and domestic, cultural and traditional, and nationalism in a contemporary context, with a focus on contemporary Japan and China.
