The staff of Cornell University's Fine Arts Library thanks the family of Clifford H. Ruffner, Jr., author of this title, for permission to make a digital copy of this important and popular title. By doing so, we are able to extend access to its content to a much broader community. The availability of a complete online version also allows us to transfer the original two-volume source to a more appropriate storage facility, ensuring its availability to future generations of researchers and architecture enthusiasts.
