Abstract

A knowledge gap exists in our understanding of the association between individual health, healthcare, transportation, and the environment at a granular level. We aim to curate a longitudinal dataset that contains history of individual demographics, health conditions, healthcare utilizations, and community dwellings. Geo-coding residence information to communities in New York City, we will match individuals with community-level information on travel behavior, active transportation, and built environment. We will analyze detailed patterns of health and healthcare utilization by varying travel behaviors, active transportation, and built environment. Findings from this study may provide strategies to promote better health and healthcare for community planners and healthcare organizations.
