Jejuno-Ileal Intussusception in an 11 week old German Shorthaired Pointer Mix Puppy
An I I-week-old intact male German Shorthaired Pointer mix presented to Cornell's Internal Medicine Service on October 27'\ 2015 for a two week history of lethargy, vomiting, and hemorrhagic dianhea. A primary care veterinarian originally saw the patient on October 15th• Several diagnostics were performed however no diagnosis could be made. The patient returned several days later for hospitalization. With no improvement the puppy was taken to Cornell's Internal Medicine Service for further evaluation. On presentation he was very quiet and weak with vital parameters within normal limits. He was 7% dehydrated and his body condition score was a 2/9. An ultrasound determined there was a small intestinal intussusception and the patient was taken to surgery that evening.
