This issue of the SEAP Bulletin showcases the breadth of scholarship and creativity across the Southeast Asia Program. Thúy Tranviet reflects on fifty years since the Vietnam War and three decades of teaching Vietnamese at Cornell, while Jeffrey Petersen, Xintong Chen, and Indrie Pratiwi document the archival legacy of Audrey Kahin. Parkorn Wangpaiboonkit examines the racial politics of music and empire in nineteenth-century Siam, and Thak Chaloemtiarana revisits the vision of SEAP’s founding faculty. Andrew Willford offers a keynote essay on mobility, madness, and modernity, and Cole Seidl provides a pedagogical reassessment of teaching Indonesian film. Emily Falica explores the links between weaving and tattooing in Naga traditions, and Emma Alexander reflects on archives and community at the Center for Khmer Studies. The issue also features Norhafiza Mohd Hed on Malaysia’s national service training program, along with program news, highlights from the Gatty Lecture Series, and updates on SEAP faculty, fellows, and events.
