Woodward, leading to the Woodward-Hoffmann rules published in 1965 (page 80). Discussion of many of the pages in this notebook can be found in the paper: Seeman, J. I. J. Org. Chem. 2015, 80, 11632-11671.
Notebook No. 2 “Swedish Notebook” Spiral-bound Swedish notebook, pp 1-154. Lidingö and Stockholm, Sweden; Harvard University, 1964. Condition: Poor, pages frayed. This notebook contains research results (primarily summaries of extended Hückel calculations on a wide variety of organic compounds and intermediates in organic reactions), record of readings, research plans of Roald Hoffmann in the period immediately following “Early 1964” notebook.. The notebook covers roughly the period June of July 1964 to-December1964. The entries are in pencil, ball-point, and fountain pen, black and colored.
