dc.description.abstractBiotechnology offers many opportunities to improve agriculture and will have its greatest impact on meat and poultry safety in two ways by providing us with diagnostic tests to effectively detect contamination during food production and it will enable the production of healthier animals through improved vaccines, diagnostic tests and the ability to produce disease resistant animals.
