| dc.description.abstract | While much of the current literature on nutrition emphasizes consumption diversity of diets, lesser empirical research is available on production side of diversity. This study seeks to explore any potential relationship between the household consumption and production diversity in rural India. While consumption diversity is measured by individual and household diet diversity scores measured using guidelines from the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN, production diversity is measured by developing a production diversity index with a similar methodology as the diet diversity score. The study finds no significant relationship between the production and consumption diversity indexes, and discusses other possible variables that might affect the two indexes. | |
