dc.description.abstractThe roles of the ARS in addressing the genetic modification of crops include the “core responsibilities of conserving, safeguarding and characterizing genetic resources. Special new functions of the agency include biotechnology risk assessment, biosafety, and the effects of genetically engineered crops in agricultural production systems.
