It should reduce the need for pesticide application since it is resistant to four important diseases - cucumber mosaic virus, zucchini yellow mosaic virus, papaya ringspot virus, and powdery mildew. ‘Whitaker’ has four species, more than other squash varieties, in its complex pedigree.
