Given the many advantages of mixed use, the purpose of this paper is to present five keys to success as well as five risks associated with mixed use. An evaluation of these success and risk factors leads to the conclusion that the synergies and advantages of mixed use far outweigh the risks, which although must be addressed, can be properly accounted for and mitigated.
