   <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en_US">Twenty-first century western visual paradigm is still very much dominated by the perspectival discourse established since the Renaissance, where the subjective view is rationalized as objects diminishing in equal proportions towards a singular vanishing point, rendering the space as a homogeneous continuum. Under the influence of such a representational paradigm, architectural design tends to address space as a pre-existing condition, into which forms are inserted. Surface, in this case, is often treated as secondary to form and space defined as such, and rarely fully addressed in its own architectural capabilities. The thesis aims to highlight an alternative space reading prioritizing the surface, while exploring the generative potential of photogrammetry, a digital surface-scanning tool.</dim:field>
