Abstract
This report describes a case of ovarian remnant syndrome in a 13 year old female spayed mixed breed dog. The dog initially presented with a history of bloody vaginal discharge for one year that had become refractory to enrofloxacin. A multi-cystic mass caudal to the left kidney and a large caudal abdominal mass were found and removed. Both were sent to hisopathology and revealed a granulosa cell tumor and uterine stump pyometra. Ovarian remnant syndrome (ORS) occurs when functional ovarian tissue is left in the body after an ovariohysterectomy OVH. Granulosa cell tumors and uterine stump pyometras, as well as other complications from routine spays, will be reviewed and discussed.
